No, you are wrong. The first store outside of Texas was in New Orleans, but Austin, Dallas and Houston all had them before they expanded into Nola

Companies are leaving left and right. Tax paying citizens born and raised in Louisiana leaving left and right. Yeah, keep electing Democrats to run the cities and state. See how much worse it can get. It’s sad.

This is ignorant. Reps control nearly every facet of state and local government and have for awhile and they aren’t making it any better. When it comes to LA politicians, Rs and Ds are two wings of the same bird.

Nola residents beg to differ.

The current governor is atrocious.
A lot of the big problems facing the state now were caused by decisions made as far back as the previous Edwards administration.

They go back to Huey Long.

Delta was HQ’d and I think started in Monroe, La. it left for Georgia in the 1940’s or 50’s. It wasn’t recent, but I’m sure it would be noticeable if it were still there.

I know the logistics of Monroe would be different right now if delta hadn’t left but it’s still funny to think about.

Delta and Century Link. Funroe would have been the economic engine of Louisiana

I'm pretty sure that Whole Foods started in Austin.
quote:
Whole Food Company (WFC) opened its doors in New Orleans in October 1974. Its mission was to be a grocery store featuring good, wholesome food; not a "health food" store filled with pills and potions. Sales doubled each year for the first four years. By 1978, the store (only 1100 square feet) was doing more than $1 million per year.

No, it really started in New Orleans.
