I said I hadn't read the case law on LA stand you ground law. I just know that some states don't automatically penalize a justified self defense shooter if a bystander gets hit.

If he was ever charged with a felony, he hired a lawyer who made a few deals and had the charges reduced to Ms. Demeanor. So he wasn't a felon. And if he was a convicted felon, well color me shocked a felon doesn't follow the law.

It's been discussed many times in the past. Many people choose to not pay a mortgage like that and walk away. The law allows it. Doesn't mean he is broke.
