People who shout “all lives matter” tend to be indifferent at best toward black and brown peoples.

One is ambiguous and one is not.
Clearly ALL LIVES MATTER is completely inclusive. Black people are alive so their lives are included and are equally important though statistics support that black on black crime is the greatest danger to black lives.

In sharp contrast, BLACK LIVES MATTER focuses on a single race suggesting the exclusion of other races. And again, since black on black crime and frankly black crime in general is the real issue, this focus seems hollow unless action steps are taken to openly and honestly deal with the problems.

In short, we will have arrived as a mature society when race is no longer a distinction.

I completely agree with everything you just said.

What’s confusing them is that they are under the impression that police violence is directed at them racially rather than because the overwhelming majority of crime is committed by blacks and in black neighborhoods. That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact, yet they see it as being racist to enforce the laws on the books, even this in light of the fact none of them consider, that statistics show that more white people have lost their lives to black lives from the police, even though whites make up a smaller number of criminals.

Facts simply don’t matter in these arguments, only emotions.

Not true. Nobody thinks that they are being excluded from being a man, or another man is better than another simply because RACE is not being brought into the discussion to make it a driver. It’s BECAUSE race isn’t being brought up as a point of discussion that the message is clear. A man is a man. Pretty simple and to the point.

Interesting position, considering the entire premise behind that statement was to fight back against being treated as non-men, particularly, being referred to as “boy”.

Really? Define “criminal”.

Think about this for a moment. Our society has members who view individual words, regardless of context, as profane and offensive. Just words, not even half-complete concepts, just individual verbs, objects and descriptors are enough to make people very unhappy.

As a stunted society, we actually believe words have the ability to be be evil. When we can't have a good working set of elements, of course expressions made of our words will be randomly and arbitrarily end up as "controversial" phrases.

This is one of the many reasons we cannot have nice things.

Until they address the black on black killings and violence, their message is not clear, neither is their argument

I have been screaming this for some time now. Today I read an article that gives at least one person's opinion of what BLM clearly means to him, in relation to black on black crime. Here are some excerpts (this is an interview by Don Lemon to actor Terry Crews):

quote:

Crews then brought up a surge in “Black-on-Black” gun violence that left multiple children dead since June 20.

“The Black Lives Matter movement has said nothing about this,” Crews said. “Black people need to hold other Black people accountable.”

Lemon then scolded Crews, telling him the movement isn’t about Black-on-Black crime.

“The Black Lives Matter movement was started because it was talking about police brutality, if you want an all Black Lives Matter movement that talks about gun violence in communities, including Black communities, then start that movement,” Lemon told the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star.

“That’s not what Black Lives Matter is about. It’s not an all-encompassing... if someone started a movement that said ‘cancer matter,’ and then someone came and said, ‘Why aren’t you talking about HIV?’ It’s not the same thing, we’re talking about cancer” Lemon continued.

“So the Black Lives Matter movement is about police brutality and injustice in that manner, not about what’s happening in black neighborhoods. There are people who are working on that issue and if you want to start that issue, why don’t you start it?”

So this is what BLM decided to hitch their wagon to when clearly black on black crime is the far bigger issue? To use the idiot's analogy (in reverse), people are burning buildings, rioting, and killing people over HIV, a disease that has been in check for some time, and ignoring cancer which is killing thousands and thousands of people each year. Got it. Great job guys.
