It's amusing reading the smugness of people who live in the shittiest suburban sprawl in the country act like they're in utopia and how dare anyone else try anything else other than build more ChicFilA's and Dollar Generals in a half empty strip mall.
People from New Orleans must love Chick Fil A and Dollar General because they’re leaving the shite hole in NOLA and moving to the northshore in droves

You’re a fricking walking billboard for bad karma, splitting your time between shite posting and insulting people and entire communities and whining about your shitty health problems.
GFY.

The people who were going to vote yes in Mandeville weren't as vocal as the no's leading up to Saturday.

Not sure how you measure “vocal” but based on mailings, signs and social media posts you’re completely wrong. If you disagree give me your address so I can unload the 2 tons of “Yes!” mailings I got in your front yard.

This thing was never about the grand resort. It was about a few people cashing in on the development and the casino relocating to a more lucrative market.
I rarely give an ounce of attention to all the hyperbolic conspiracy theories that accompany these issues, but in this case, I think it has legs.

The idiot politicians that represent Slidell really need to get some half way decent jobs to that city. No more strip malls or casino shite. Go out and get some logistics centers, or some kid of manufacturing. That’s been the biggest difference between Slidell and Mandeville/Covington. Slidell has seemed content thinking their a bed room community and has only built strip malls with minimum wage jobs. while Mandeville & Covington continue to pull in white collar jobs.

I’ve always felt like Slidell could be a manufacturing and commerce hub. It’s situated at the confluence of I-10, I-59, & I-55. All 3 go from one end of the country to the other. There’s deep water ports nearby at New Orleans, Gulfport, & Mobile. And there’s rails in and out of Slidell. Seems like solid logistics.

The city and parish for that matter can’t see farther than strip malls, cheap chain restaurants, and Walmarts. And let’s not forget this it’s a tree city. Can’t cut down a tree without the city’s blessing, but that only applies to local small businesses trying to get off the ground.

Who said they can't try other things? Surely there is more than casinos for development, correct? You sure seem miserable.

There is one license left I believe. Residents in slidell think they did something grand. All while section 8 and the East rolls in. In all honesty, had it passed people would not have stayed involved and required it to be managed properly.

This is democracy. I have a casino less than two miles from me and haven't stepped foot in it in well over 10 years.
These casinos aren't the boom people say they are. They are sad dens of seniors sitting at noisy slots.

Dude is bitter and cringe in all the Northshore threads. It’s like clockwork

“Hurr you rednecks didn’t vote in this low brow shitty casino…..all y’all have is Chick Fil A’s…” like that’s a knock

sarcasm: But I thought Slidell was a tourism Mecca....

Slidell won't be the NOE bc the Parish DA actually wants to prosecute crimes.

Btw I just want to take time to tell you all that Fatty's seafood is 100% cheeks.

Bay St Louis is older than New Orleans.
But yes, it saw more development due to wealthy New Orleanians wanting to escape the city for months at a time and then later middle class people escaping for the weekends.

I guess you make a good point: if New Orleans wasnt so shitty, areas around it would not have seen as much growth from those wanting to get the hell out.
