Sleep in a recliner or do what I did and go buy an adjustable bed.
Those are your choices for enough comfort for sleep. Been there still doing that.

I had to sleep on my right side when the left one was torn. I slept with my right leg flat, knee down and my left knee extended out at an angle, with bent knee. I would get tired of sleeping that way, roll over on that left shoulder, and wake up in pain.

I slept in a recliner. I couldn’t lay down. That shite hurt. Worst pain of any surgery I have ever had. Good luck

Check out Voltaren. It's over the counter cream and my friend won't shut up about it. His ortho rec'd it and his shoulders are pure garbage. Like bone on bone

I'm heading in for cortisone in the next two weeks. Super pumped tbh

I did the recliner thing too. Only halfway comfortable position I could find. Six months with PT.

Hate to tell u it is probably not gonna heal without surgery. I had cuff torn off bone. As long as arm at your side it’s kool. Can’t lift over head , sleeping in recliner is a good idea but surgery will probably need to happen. Good luck

I’m nine weeks into recovery from surgery. Tough. Worse than hip replacement. Hope to play golf by August.

Get it fixed surgically.

Just go get it fixed. You can actually make it worse by immobilizing and not using it. I had my surgery on a Friday night and went to a football game the next day and back to work (sedentary, no lifting) on Monday. Within six weeks I was uh, back in the starting rotation for the Yankees.

Best advice I can give is to SHAVE your chest and shoulder area before the surgery because they tape the bandages to you with some industrial grade adhesive, and removal is like medieval torture.

I moved to my couch last August. Propped a couch pillow up on the arm rest with my sleeping pillow on top of that. Had the torn shoulder against the back couch pillows for support. It's the only way I could get any semblance of rest until my November surgery date.

Sleep with shoulder brace for a few weeks
Arm remains in same spot allowing it to heal

Never had that exact injury, but I do have something like this and it might help:

Tore my labrum playing rugby. Kept playing and tore rotator cuff. Surgery to fix both. Took 8 months of recovery /rehab before I could get back on the pitch. The rehab sucked for sure, but better in the long run of not being able to sleep at night.

This.

Unless you have a large comfortable couch/lounge. I slept there for 4/5 weeks until I said frick it and used an airplane pillow to prop my shoulder up in my bed for a couple nights a week.

fricking miserable. I would have knee surgery again before doing my shoulder again.
