How so? They do what they want. Travel when they want, go out with friends when they want, etc. many of them successful women (doctors, lawyers, etc). They wouldn't pass up a relationship and marriage.....but they don't let that define their happiness.

I have a lot of gfs in their mid to late 30s that are financially independent and single with no kids. They all seem very content. If they get in a relationship....great, but it doesn't make or break their overall happiness. They all travel a good bit as well.

You still have to support yourself and that means a job. That takes up most of the week right there.

You can have a social life either way.

Its all great for you "ballin" tough guys for now.

For some -- you will not regret not having children, but for most.....

There will come a time in your lives where you actually mature and drinking and chasing tail loses its luster..

at that point,,,,, its pretty cool to teach your boy how to play baseball or shoot...

good luck!

Happiness is all that matters in a persons life. Some just don't want to answer to anyone and have the freedom to do what they want when they want. Others desire a companion.

I made it the best of 2 worlds....I kicked it from 16-31.... didn't marry til 34 and had kids at 35-39...I then split with the wife at 39, took advantage of social media dating sites when she had the kids til 42 and now I found a hot arse woman who puts up with me and the little domestic terrorists....doesn't have to be one of the other

do you get depressed when your friends or whoever you were hanging out with go home to their spouses and/or kids?

I have a diverse set of friends that I hang out with that have differing relationship status.

Although I did enjoy my times in relationships, the older I get, the more I'm okay with just having a simple g/f and kids have become a pretty distant goal that I'm not even sure I want to achieve anymore.

What becomes the meaning of life at 40 when you really have nothing to leave behind?

I suppose as a human individual, you will think this at some point. However, I don't need to leave my DNA in the form of another human to satisfy the desire to leave something behind or leave this world better than when I arrived.

What keeps you getting out of bed each day and thinking you have a real purpose since you missed the 'family' part of life? What's the next step?

There's more to life than having a family. Many others set and achieve different goals for themselves, whether that be personal, career, etc...

Having a blood family isn't the end all be all. I consider most of my close friends my family.

Yes and no. Being 26, I obviously still have time to settle down and what not, but there are times where I see my friends eyeing up girls but obviously can't do anything bc they're married or they wanna hang out but kids need to be taken care of, so on and so forth.

On the flip side, I love not having much responsibility aside from work. I'm hitting the gym now, playing basketball, gaming, about to get a new car and taking a trip to NY in the winter. Stuff I def would not be able to do as much as I like if I had a family I imagine. What's funny is the mixed reactions I get. Some friends tell me they're jealous and wish they could be in my shoes while others tell me I need to "grow up".
