Damn that looks intense. Is it like freshwater where the bigger the tank the easier it is to take care of it?

Yeah, the smaller the tank the more precise you have to be with adding supplements, keeping salinity right, etc. But the bigger the more expensive as well. I think a 40 gallon with a sump is a really good starter spot. Easy enough to maintain, not super expensive.

What coral is it that you have growing on the overflow? Also, what lens/filter did you use to capture those images? Look great. As you know the blue lights wash out a lot of detail, your pics are crisp. Orange filter?

My aquarium buddy just got it as a Christmas gift for me. Yes orange filter.

Orphek coral lens extra wide is the name. Has 4 lens in it that screw onto a thing you can clip over your phone. Alot of the good picks are from today with it.

On the overflow are two montis, superman and another I'd have to look up the name.

No bubble algae yet.

I do have some aiptasia I keep at bay with vinegar from tike to time. Everytime I think it's gone, a new one pops up a month later.

The goby is named Andy, after Andy from shawshank. He disappeared for about 3 days after I added him to the tank. Up and vanished like a fart in the wind. I thought he had jumped out somehow and the cat got him. Then... he just showed up, and is always out and about now.

1.) What's the tank volume? Is it a Red Sea or Waterbox package?

2.) How large of water changes do you do and how often?

3.) What's the sump volume, and what's in it?

It's a 40 gallon breeder tank with a 20 gallon homemade sump. Not a brand name AIO setup. The guy I got it from built it and sump, drilled glass, etc.

I do 10 gallons every two weeks. It's close to 20% of the water volume.

It's a 20 gallon, with about 13 gallons actually in it. Look back, I posted a detailed post with pics of what in it on page three I think.

Nice! Fellow Euphylia and shroom fanatic.

Edit: also like that duncan colony.

Thanks, I started with the duncan, rainbow ric, and some zoas (not picutred).

Ended up lucking into those 3 big euphylia early on from a local fragging for 5 a head. They did great, so I added the rose and gold color hammers lately.

Duncan started as 3 heads. now is around 15 or more I think.

Just getting into shrooms, other than the ricordea. I was avoiding at first cause I heard they grew so fast and would take over.

Great tank. So jealous. Would love to have one but don’t think I have the time or patience.
