I am forty seven and don't remember anything like this. Any oldtimers from Shreveport remember the last flood of this magnitude back in the early forties?

They shouldn't rebuild. It's their fault for living there. FEMA checks are going to be wasted on Cowboy tickets...

I find fault with zoning commissions allowing building in flood zones by contractors.

When a hurricane killed a lot of people on Long Island and in southern New England in 1938, Rhode Island did not allow any rebuilding of the worst damaged areas.

(worst image from the 1938 hurricane, it blew a movie theater on Long Island into Long Island sound. It was full of people. We really are blessed to have radar to warn about size and planes that go into them and learn the facts)

Not even that big of a deal. Only a minor inconvenience to 99% of the people around town.
