You know about the maple syrup cartel in Quebec? Those poor syrup producers are fricked.

I fought for you to come back after being banned, and celebrated your return. But you seem castrated at this point. Like you are just giving the board what they want to hear. Where is the contrarian OweO?

Would have been a good idea in the early 1800's. Its too late for a political union now

This is the case of me being honest. Canadians ARE pussies and Mexico is POOR. I can't think of anything to defend doing it.

Sweeping generalizations. GSP would kick anyone here’s arse in a matter of seconds, and there is plenty of money in Mexico. Go to Mexico then go to the Mississippi delta and then tell me who is poor.

What part? Because parts of Mexico are far worse than the Delta.

I can't see how joining up for anything with Mexico makes you better or stronger. As for Canada, it's kinda like signing a 4th string punter. It's not a negative, but if you ever have to rely on it, you're in pretty bad shape.

Man, how far we have fallen from our found father’s ideals.

Some of you are lost as a goose.

I don't care if it's stronger militarily, but it could help us wean off of China.

Yeah, the government is the literal cartel. It is pretty fascinating how they stockpile and do cost control on syrup.

Point is, no one would say don’t take manufacturing jobs away from China and move them to the Mississippi delta because it is “too poor”

It’s almost like things have inevitably changed since the 1700’s.

What would the founding fathers have against confederations?

The original constitution of the United States was called "The Articles of Confederation."

Edit: There was even a foreign policy dispute in the early days of the U.S. when a lot of folks thought the U.S. should extend its sovereignty into Canada. We tried to resolve it by invading Canada in the War of 1812, but we were repelled by British forces.

Mexico actually has "colleges" where you can go to learn English and how to perform administrative work in order to prepare you to work for American companies. The same could be done for any other industry

I lived there for 2 months when I was 16 on an exchange thing. They teach English starting at age 5 in the middle of the pack to better schools

They wouldn't move to the delta because of a lack of a decent workforce, more than anything.

The thing that the orient offers is population

The thing that the orient offers is educated people. Out of all the immigrant groups that I have helped/help - the Asians usually have reading and writing knowledge of their own language.

A few years ago I was helping some people from El Salvador, the woman could not read or write Spanish and she was 28 years old. Another group I knew from southern Mexico and Guatemala only had speaking knowledge of Spanish because they spoke some Indian language.

So the USA & Canada would have to go into Mexico - set up schools (which has been done in many places already) and actually figure out how to get the people to attend.

Would be interesting to realize the coastline footprint we would control though. Massive.

And anything to rid ourselves of China and export our dollars there would be erotic.
