Should I hire this handy man service?

I need a little handy work done around the house. Can anyone vouch for D's Handyman Service.
It looks like he has all the right qualifications:
1995 Chevy Low Rider [v]
Foot hanging out the window [v]
Smoking cigarette [v]
Profanity on back window [v]
What could possibly go wrong? Do I even need to ask for state contractor license number and proof of insurance?
