I remember they said it was move in ready by the 7th, but there were people living there. Probably moved out on the 1st. So that could be it.

Wife and I moved into an apartment while our house is being constructed. Complex we moved into had shitty reviews for our apartments management. I have always decided to take a chance, unfortunately the reviews didn't lie. Numerous issues that take days for them to fix.

This is in BR so not sure if it is the same place you are looking at or not.

I've never had good relations with apartment management. In my first apartment, I went 4 days in July with no air conditioner. That's four days of calling the front office/maintenance repeatedly because I was continuously promised someone was coming yet, hours later they would never show up.

About a year later, my dryer no longer functioned properly and it took them 5 days to replace my dryer.

I like where I'm living now, but I had just started a new job when I got my new apartment. The apartment manager was supposed to meet me at her office so that I could pick up the key before I headed to work. I waited on her at her office for 15 minutes, making me a half hour late for work and she never showed. When I called her later that day, she said she just forgot.

My bedroom roof has leaked on three separate occasions. The second time it happened, it shorted out all electricity in my bedroom and plaster fell all over my shower.

The bottom line here is these people are only interested in filling units with warm bodies. Once they do that, most couldn't give a flip about you.

I'm really confused why your career (short of being a UFC fighter or a Navy seal or something) has anything to do with you being a pussy.

I'm more confused why an educated man would make such a irrelevant argument.

The people in the office make money off of you putting down a deposit and signing a lease. You are their top priority. After that, you're a secondary concern. If they suck before you even move in, then they're really gonna suck once you're living there and need your sink fixed

This pretty much nails it. I had a problem with my toilet in my apartment for over a month (I could only flush down 1 piece of toilet paper, so you could imagine how that went...), and it was never fixed. I eventually left that shitey apartment thankfully, but it all started as you described in your post Pectus. I would be very, very careful if I were you. Good luck.

I think you are pretty freakin cool. But if you know me, you know I love rocks and geology. I even committed a felony as a kid when I took a rock from a state park as a souvenir. (I didn't know that until AFTER I stashed the 10-20 lb rock in my car trunk and we were leaving). Bad Kittie!!

Judging by your avatar you're probably a huge pussy to begin with.

Worrying is just a part of that.

So you were going to be 15 minutes late to work at a new job even if she was on time?

Seems like the office he went to was not at the apartment complex, thus, he would have to drive there, and then after getting the key, he would have to then drive to work which could take 15 minutes.

Nooooooo!

I am going to give them to Tuesday to prove themselves.

Then, I will start to "prepare for losses".
