Should I be worried about my soon-to-be apt rental?

I am getting kind of concerned about the people who manage my apartment. I visited 3 weeks ago and put a down payment for an apartment to move in to on this Friday.

I knew I had to contact them with needed forms and proof of renter's insurance, etc.

The only thing is, they have not contacted me the entire time I have sent them these completed forms. I havent even got the copy of the lease they said they would send me on my initial visit.

I leave them emails asking if anything else is needed. I eventually left a voicemail on Friday, and it wasn't returned.


Now I am getting worried if living there, dealing with anything else that relies on management like maintainence work will be the same way.

I looked up reviews and the majority of the negative ones are about the staff.

So, I am only in the hole a little on this deposit. Should I ride it out, or heed my concerns as a warning and take the loss for a possibly better living arrangement? I would have to possibly pay minor penalities on cancelking electricity and internet. But perhaps they can work with me.
