I wouldn't blame Hillar for the weak sentences judges in BR give criminals. He does what he can to put criminals behind bars

He also lets a lot of stuff go. And I understand that to a point. I don't think every person possessing an ounce should be locked up. But he lets a lot go.

Hillar is the least of the problem with BR's crime.

Certainly not downplaying your list. Have you ever heard who the two most powerful persons are in a parish?

DA. Sheriff.

Just stop. It is apparent you have some weird bias against the DA. The guy has done a bang up job for many years and will continue to do so. In the litany of fricked up Baton Rouge politics he is a rare animal. Leave him alone.

Lol ok. I disagree with a lot of things he does. That doesn’t somehow make our votes being equal something for you to lose sleep over. Unless I’ve misjudged you, you probably should also hold off on being an authority regarding the local legal scene and telling others to go back to high school civics. Stick to complaining about the library. And just to be fair I’ve voted for Hillar every time he has been up for election. Not anymore.

A few things I see wrong.

Not enough officers to keep younger officers in uniform patrol longer to actually learn the job.
They all want to be promoted and off the streets in 2 yrs. Uniform Patrol builds a foundation for the officers to move up in their career. The way it is working now you have too many guys with lack of experience getting promoted.

You have a mayor that has a puppet for a police chief. This is not good for morale. This could push the older rank and file out the door that would train these younger officer.

Baton Rouge middle class is moving out and some of the older middle class areas are going down hill fast. This produces more in service calls and incidents.
The districts are also spread thin and BR annexes more areas which require special attention such as shopping centers.

Just not enough officers on the ground.

If the crime rate was within normal limits the police force would be adequate.

Flood BR, NO and plant crawfish/rice in it.

The BRPD's numbers have been declining and the current mayor and her predecessor didn't help the situation.

No idea, but Hillar is part of the problem. Just remember anytime you see a judge doing this or that, Hillar's office, up until very recently, sat idly by and let it happen. He is now catching heat so he decides to do something.

Been saying this.
Judges go easy on the bad guys, and Moore didn't say anything.
He knows what's going on, but for political reasons he just lets it happen.

It’s absolutely political. He is a white democrat trying to appeal to south BR, central and the northern end of the parish. I understand his dilemma but it’s costing the rest of us.

I'm willing to do a little work if they give me access to all the databases they use.
