Yeah age doesn't matter. There are fricked up people at all types of ages. The dude in thr Las Vegas shooting had a ton of money and he was an older dude.

To be fair, the whole “break down of the traditional family unit” argument is just as flawed as the “ban guns” argument.

I am too man. No one takes pleasure in debating this stuff. It is getting ridiculous. However for the people who do think it is guns, its not

It's no singular issue. Guns are one of many parts in all likelihood.

I could sit outside that school with a bolt action rifle and do more damage than this kid did.

Type of weapon/capacity is irrelevant. Its just something to fuel the media or someones agenda to put the blame on guns

Balogna. You're not killing 17 people with a bolt action rifle before you're apprehended. Charles Whitman was an excellent marksman shooting from a damn tower and killed 11, and this was at a time when no one would even consider a mass shooter.

I just don’t understand how people didn’t notice the warning signs with this kid. I mean his Instagram was nothing but pics of him covering his face posing with guns

I'm prior military. I can easily ensure 30 well placed rounds under 500 meters effectively with a AR platform with iron sights in a matter of a few minutes.

A bolt action with a scope would make me more deadly.

I'm not trying to be a hardass, but there are many civilians and military out there that could do that easily.

However, 1 round with a pistol is bad enough in my eyes.

I hope this isn’t true...but if it is, it means society and decision makers haven’t learned a damn thing since Columbine. That’s been 20 years ago. The difference now, is social media makes it easier to spot these ill people.

Is there nobody filtering this shite?

Think about what you’re saying, though. It isn’t illegal to be a weirdo on social media and it shouldn’t be. We can’t monitor people all day every day.

Let's just assume all of this is true - in the hands of an 18 year old novice, an AR-15 is far more deadly.

I'm not so much arguing guns are the primary problem with any of this, but it's disingenuous to argue they're irrelevant. There are certain weapons that are ideal for taking down a deer at 300 yards. There are others that are very well suited for slaughtering 40+ people in a night club or 20+ elementary students. Of course there are valid reasons to own these weapons, but ignoring how efficiently they kill is dumb IMO.

You could easily do it in a place like a school with a couple of pistols and a handful of magazines.

I haven't seen any verification those accounts were his, but it's pretty damning.
