Is it illegal to shoot dove off a neighbor's roof with pellet gun?

Does it make a difference if they are not home?

Serious answers only.

Nah, go for it. I can't imagine any scenario that would play out badly for you in this situation.

He's doing that old dove a favor. He's been tired of her bitching for 6 years now, but he can't break the rules on his own. He'd been leading her across open fields for years just hoping that Bubba was a good shot that day and took one of them out.

Good question. I would think it would be illegal to shoot something in a neighbor’s yard. Maybe, if getting permission from the neighbor. The fact that it’s a pellet gun shouldn’t be any different than a rifle, I’m guessing.

I remember when the world wasn’t so isolated and everyone was separated by chain link fences.
