I was listening to Walton and Johnson earlier this week(or possibly last week) and I remember them talking about someone making threats saying he was going to shoot up people at one of these army bases. I forgot which army base it was exactly. It would be tragic if he made the threats then actually was able to go through with it. Not sure if same guy. Will definitely be listening tomorrow.

Listening to the live feed during the incident, I listened to a man identified as "Tyler" stating that he was watching from a hidden area. After the shooting, he stated that a whole group men, women, and children were being led out of a building at gunpoint with hands raised. He said they were forced to kneel and later lined up against a wall and frisked. I thought it was a bit strange.

He was calling the station anonymously, so I guess it could be a bunch of bull.

How the hell would I know what happened? If I was trying to say that, I would have said it.
I'm saying what I heard the caller say on the live feed. I thought it was strange. That's all. I even said it could be a bunch of of bull. That's my only speculation. I even gave a link where it had been reported elsewhere. The NY Times article reporting it doesn't necessarily mean anything either. When crazy things happen, all kinds of misinformation can surface. I did edit. Initially, I said "Ivan". The man who called used the name "Tyler". My mistake.
ETA: Didn't mean to post something that had already been posted. Called myself doing a search.

SOP when clearing a building with an unidentified active shooter to ensure the shooter doesn't escape with the regular folks. You don't know who the baddie is.

Maybe already covered earlier in the thread, since people are still asking what happened, CG of FT HOOD said subject was under treatment for PTSD. Confronted by an MP in the parking lot after the shooting and took his own life.

I suspected as much...mental health services for the military, as they are, really don't seem to be adequate.
Very sad.
