There were maybe 5 people on staff in my high school staff that I would trust with a gun. I would rather pay a cop to stand guard and not a fat, lazy, coward like the one they had in Florida.

We need to allow teachers, coaches and principals (etc.) who want to be armed and be trained, to be allowed to carry in our schools.
Add a few more guards but above is a terrible idea.
We already have tons of teachers sleeping with students now we want to arm them

There's a small % of teachers that would actually be capable of carrying. The rest should not have guns. The issue with some sort of teacher gun program is that you won't be able to separate those who are capable and those who shouldn't

Can you not think of a single teacher you had in HS that you would've trusted to be armed (if you were going to school in the current climate)?
That’s not particularly relevant if the idea here is that any teacher who wants to do it will have the ability to (including the ones I personally wouldn’t trust with a gun).

Pretty balanced coverage (considering) on CBS just now, although of course after saying the police praised the intervenor, they wanted to know if he had a permit for the gun he was carrying. Why do
I get the feeling they will try to turn this negative?
Btw, sounds like ole baw made a good shot. Saved the OK taxpayers a ton of money

Why not use that same logic with all civilians because of criminals? It’s absurd to think that penalizing the many for the actions of the very minuscule makes any good sense whatsoever.
Oh, and MAGA MFers.
An armed society is a polite society.

It would also create a nightmarish scenario regarding litigation for union and non union teachers.
I mean like I can't even believe I didn't qualify to carry a gun, like literally, I can't even. Their teacher gun carrying qualification test is sexist and/or racist and is discriminatory against [insert narrative group here] teachers.

I think a suitable compromise the the arming teachers question is instead of trying to train and arm teachers, place already trained and armed retired military and/or law enforcement volunteers in each school to act as guards. Post them at the entrances with one or two in reserve patrolling around the building(s). To incentivize people to volunteer, offer them a 100% income and property tax exemption so long as they’re volunteering for the school.
(Disclaimer: I did not come up with this idea myself. But I think it’s a good one none the less)

Whats the difference between training teachers to handle firearms to protect students and training security guards(who, BTW, often receive very little training) to handle firearms to protect students?
Do you think a badge suddenly bestows magical powers upon the recipient? What if the teacher was a former security guard, firearms instructor, military member or police officer?
You logic is flawed and youre basing opinion on emotion.

Judging from the video...culcha related?
Psychosis related. The guy was obviously off of his rocker. The right meds could have possibly prevented this from happening. Not disagreeing with the use of deadly force to resolve the issue. At that point in time it was the right solution. Unfortunately, the victims will still have to suffer through their wounds and will possibly have long term issues, both physical and emotional.
It would be interesting to know if any of his prior videos had similar content. It seems like someone could have reported this and maybe he could have gotten some help before it came to people being shot.

They identified the shooter... hen officers arrived at the scene on Thursday evening, authorities say they discovered the alleged shooter, 28-year-old Alexander Tilghman dead outside of the restaurant.
Investigators say Tilghman was shot outside the restaurant by two civilians, identified as 35-year-old Juan Carlos Nazario and 39-year-old Bryan Whittle.
This is the same guy from that yahwehrules2 you tube channel I posted about earlier....dude was nuts and needed help.

Jesus. You're smarter than this Darth. So 1-3 volunteers carrying guns and "patrolling" in every school building? There were almost 100,000 public schools in the US 10 years ago. Plus private and parochial schools.
Every population group, even "retired military and/or law enforcement" has a significant percentage of freaks you wouldn't want around your kids. How do you keep the bad ones from volunteering? If 1% of the volunteers are people you wouldn't want around kids, that's over 1,000 of them in the schools every day.
And, what, they just sit around or roam around all day in case a shooting happens? Or do they have authority to search cars or students, or enforce school rules on running in the hallway?

Not picking on you (Tigerhead) but everyone repeats this nonsense like it can actually happen in America.
We obviously are in the middle of a mental health crisis. But our laws are written with the intent to protect everyone’s independence until it’s too late.
Except under the most extreme circumstances:
You can’t force someone into treatment. You can’t force someone to take meds.
What we need to do is to return to a protect first and ask questions later. Put the ability to place a 7 day hold on anyone that makes a threat to others safety until they can have a complete evaluation. Then, force them to be treatment compliant or lock them up. (Missed appointments or serum concentrations of drugs dropping below a certain level)
But we don’t have the stones to do what it will take.
The shootings will continue and gun control laws won’t change it.
