The MSU alert is now saying that there are not any reports of any shots actually being fired. After first labeling this an 'active shooter' situation.
Can one be an active shooter without firing any shots?

Maybe someone saw him with a gun in hand on campus. After yesterday's news, I'd alert authorities if I saw that. But I know some of you will call that "hypersensitive"

Believe anyone wielding a gun in their hand with the appearance of being ready to use it without provocation is still considered an "active shooter".

I'll guarantee you this. A day after a highly publicized shooting, and on a campus that size, most people would rather them jump to conclusions than not. You have no idea what you are dealing with in the heat of the moment.

since it hasn't been said that he fired a shot lets just assume he did't, what kind of jail time would this guy see? if he never pulled the trigger what can he be charged with? asking genuinely not sarcastically.....hope he burns in hell soon
