If Tara goes black the way Sherwood Forest did some of the most expensive homes in the city will lose their property value. Tara is the lynch pin that must remain.

Is Tara HS school and neighborhood still good? The guy that owned the BR Kingfish lives or lived in Tara.

holy shite this nostalgia overload
grew up on Mollylea. lived there until I was 18, roughly 10 years ago
things I remember:
-going into that flea market by the theater to buy x-men cards with my dad
-going and seeing Babe at the Broadmoor Theatre
-got my haircut at the barbershop in that same shopping center
-riding bikes to blockbuster like 3 times a week
-racing my brother on bikes to TCBY
-playing in that field behind Christie McCullough off Goodwood
-sneaking onto the golf course through a break in the fence in the Christie McCullough field
-STM fair
-swimming at the Aquatic Club all summer
-K&B, Sports Unlimited, Egg Roll King
-eating at that chinese buffet over by the interstate with my parents like once a week

I think it was called Wholesale Foods. Didn't last long. There was drive-in theater on the opposite side of Airline.

Anyone remember so huge grocery store pretty much where Jefferson hits Airline? Not Old Jefferson. I have fuzzy memories of going to one right there and they had a little "cinema" type thing where parents could drop off their kids to watch movies while the parents shopped. It was more on the service road than on Airline. It's killing me that I can't remember the name
Warehouse Foods.

Tara high school was never good. It was/is the place where kids get sent that get kicked out of private schools who have run out of options.

The one across from Chuck E Cheese? Bamboo House. It used to be awesome but was horrible last few times I went years back.

Actually its one of the better public HS's in BR now. They changed around all the districts in like 98 and Warren Drake, the now superintendant, was principal there for years. It is actually a pretty good public school.

Loupes. I was a sponsored racer there.
That's it. Spent many a week's allowance in that place. Scared as frick to go in there though. Was and still am terrified of spiders and that was one HUGE tarantula he had in there. He knew that and told me it got out of the aquarium one day. Think I made it back to my house in under 30 seconds with my bike tires smoking that day.

Who remembers this monstrosity on Greenwell Springs/Airline
Did all of those real Superstores go out of business? I remember going in there a few times. It seemed (at least to a kid) a little nicer than the other grocery stores. Was it a higher end store or something?
They turned the one in Lafayette into a movie theater.
I did a lot of prep work for a grocery store looking to invest in the old Broadmoor shopping center. The demographics are surprisingly good in Broadmoor and Sherwood south of Florida still. Above average income, high rates of ownership, etc.
The one that eventually went in there (Hi Nabor) was not the one I was working with, but they are a pretty good local chain.
