You're confusing my flippant dismissal of your opinion with anger. I'm not angry, I simply view you and your position as undeserving of the authority granted to you. Granted being the operative word, not earned. Your blind trust in the system makes me view you as simple.

I know you want to make it seem like you were just trolling the whole time, but you weren't. You've clearly attempted to make matters such as questioning the undermining of constitutional rights seem like a joke to try and make this just go away. Using terms like 'rustled jimmies' to minimize what is actually occurring here in our community is childish at best and dangerous at worst. It's not a joke to many of us. It's not funny and it's not something we should ever take lightly. People have every right to be pissed about this and they very well should be voicing their opinions. The next step is to vote out anyone who supports these efforts and I hope we come together as a community to make it happen so that people like yourself and Sid understand that we are tired of our constitutional rights being trampled under the guise of 'safety' and we've had enough.

Youre right I was mistaken

I can partially agree with you here. Many law enforcement officers are given authority amd a certain power before they have proven they can handle it and be trusted with it.

Blind trust? Not so much. As being involved with the system for 16 years I feel like I know what parts I should put trust in and which ones I should steer clear of. Obviously this thread was one of them. An attempt to be objective while keeping the mood light was a bad idea on my part. I some times forget that not putting thought into what I feel is meaningless banter can reflect poorly on myself and others associated with my profession

partially. I wanted to be objective and discuss both sides while being a little obtuse for the sake of entertainment

The constitution is being shite on in so many different ways all across this country. I personally feel that this curfew issue is way down on the list of things I should concern myself with

Again, just trying to keep it light. Obviously so many of yall are really concerned that this curfew represents a much larger issue.

As stated before, Some half arse curfew in EBR is very low on my list of things that trouble me

People have every right to be pissed about this and they very well should be voicing their opinions

I truly hope they do. Have you contacted your elected officials about this? Or just ranted on here to people that have no control?

You could skipped all that bullshite by simply telling us you performed an investigation on yourself and have determined you are not at fault. Case closed.

Youre absolutely right. In fact, that duty is Sid's in EBR and he decided that a curfew would help prevent some of it.

Well shite, why not just have it year round?

And it wasn't his job, but he went around to get the authority

Yea, confining people to their homes and impacting the livelihood of individuals and businesses well beyond a reasonable time frame with the threat of being imprisoned, under the guise of safety, all in an attempt to make a political statement is really just the pinnacle of power abuse in my opinion and I hope we stand up as a community and vote his arse out.

These people will never understand what it takes to wear the colors and deal with the crap you have to deal with everyday . They want unlimited freedom and zero responsibility. They would rather throw hurricane parties while their neighbors are sjffering...they would rather gamble all night at the casino and lose their money rather than lend to hand in need. Sad. And they blame.it all on curfews.
