Who gives a shite? There are probably majority Jewish or Muslim towns that do this.
I give a shite because maybe I don't want my tax dollars being spent on people making Jesus posts?

The "government" wasn't censoring shite. Can I sue the government if a dmv worker tells me to be quiet? Absurd.
A government website posted a religious message, and then deleted any comments posted in response to that message that went against the government's message and blocked the negative commentators' Facebook accounts from accessing the government's page.
That is the definition of government censorship.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most about his position is the claim that he wouldn't care if it were reversed. I'm good with discussing or even arguing with a person of goodwill who's an honest player, but that level of horseshite is hard to overcome.
The ONLY reason this is seen as no big deal is because generationally this has gone one way, and that's in the direction of what he agrees with. It's not that he doesn't understand this...it's that he's now MAD that his side is no longer getting away with this bullshite.
I mean...I get it. I guess I'd be angry about no longer getting special treatment, but I'd like to think I'd be honest enough to acknowledge the special treatment I once got and move on with my life. Not pretend it was always fine and now I"M being repressed! Holy shite...

You don't know me, so wtf does this even mean? Talk about horseshite.
The cabin doors have been closed. Enjoy your pity party. I'll pray your local constable doesn't say God bless you when you sneeze.

oh shut the frick up.
So disliking gov't waste is hilarious now?
I'd say you were a liberal but liberals love gov't waste as long as it isn't spent on religion, so...

If, based on your comments in this thread, you were banned from this website and all of your posts were deleted, would that constitute Tigerdroppings placing a restriction on your speech?
If yes, then you agree with the plaintiffs in this case.
If no, then sorry but you are too unable to understand what words mean for there to be any point in continuing this discussion.
Again, the free speech claim is not that the citizens had to look at pictures of Jesus. The claim is that anyone who complained about looking at pictures of Jesus had their comments deleted and accounts blocked.

It means I think you're a liar, and I don't think lying for Jesus gives you a pass.
I feel like Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men...you want to say it, but you know better than to actually take the position that would make you look dumb and that you clearly have a double standard here...so you pretend that you'd be perfectly fine with some Muslim Sheriff posting crap about Islam, or some Hindu using his office to preach about their gods.
Just own it, man...you'll feel better! And, you'll be honest...which is it's own reward!

Too bad...because otherwise the Devil will jump into my body when it sees the opening after the sneeze!!!

If Atheism is a religion, than isn't the absence of anything religious promoting atheism?
Sue the Atheists for imposing their religious beliefs when our kids can't say Merry Christmas in their school b/c atheism is being taught by the state
If that stupid arse sheriff put "Assalamualaikum" on his facebook page you would be up in arms.

Pro tip, the Establishment and Prohibition Clause has nothing to do with this.
It's a Freedom of Speech issue. So pack up the religious bit here.

Right on. More to the story.

Atheists can't stop Tennessee sheriff Eric Watson from posting Christian messages on Facebook, Judge rules......
Almost immediately, the backlash began on the sheriff’s post. Several commenters began taking the sheriff to task for posting such an overtly religious message on the Facebook page. However, instead of deleting the post, Watson doubled down: he and other staffers deleted critical comments about the post, as well as any other critical comments elsewhere on the department’s Facebook page, and banned those users who had posted critical comments.
An anonymous Bradley County resident contacted atheists’ rights group American Atheists, and they filed a lawsuit. The suit alleged that Watson and the County violated the anonymous resident’s First Amendment rights by posting the religious message, as well as engaged in a pattern of censorship by deleting critical posts, according to a May 9 WTVC report.
At the time, American Atheists said the lawsuit was less about the “He Is Risen” message and more about the later censorship.
“This lawsuit is about protecting the community’s First Amendment right to speak out about its elected officials. The BCSO had no problem with public comments until they were critical of the sheriff or of his proselytizing at work. But the government doesn’t get to silence speech it doesn’t like, even if that speech is negative, unflattering and disrespectful of the sheriff’s religion.”
That sheriff tried to go Gary Chambers on the county facebook page.

The deal calls for $15,000 in damages to be paid to the American Atheists organization and other plaintiffs in addition to $26,000 in legal fees.
Intersting. The Lawyers for the plaintiff make out like bandits getting away with 26k. That is more than the damages were.
So the lawyers get rich, every else gets screwed.
