This oil recession is taking a hit all over, even at jazz fest. For those who work or have relatives that worked for Shell in NOLA you may have been in the Shell tent a time or two. I was there on Thursday and we were given a wristband w/ tickets for only 2 beers! There were also signs that said please only take once snack as well.

Frequenting the Shell tent in the past I remember being able to have multiple beers, like 5 or 6. The snacks were legit as well, not cheetos and peanuts like they had this year.

That's kinda what happens when your profits evaporate overnight.

I imagine there would be more bitching if they had the party as usual and were laying people off? Maybe they should of just cancelled?

Valid point, BUT the second-hand truck nuts were take-all-you-want.

I had no idea it would impact limiting complimentary beer and snacks and Jazz Fest.

You didn't think a company hemorrhaging money would stop making it rain with free shite?

Meh, I was in that tent over both weekend. I have no complaints. My wife really liked the big clean restrooms

We should all pay $3 gas so Shell VIP's can get plowed at JF.

Good grief, Americans have become so dumbed down.

Not sure why that has anything to do with being "dumbed down."

The tent was clutch in the rain on Thursday.
