Yep, ours are little. Big pay raise when they go to kindergarten. ?
With that said, love the social aspect of daycare. Interacting with way more of the outside world than we could offer with stay at home
That's way more than we paid for daycare, but our youngest is 17. Aftercare wasn't too bad by comparison. I think we paid a couple hundred a month for that. I'm sure it's double or triple that now though.

That’s fricking horseshite. Europe did not have to flood itself with third world poverty. Europe chose to do this. Big business always wants cheaper labor and leftists always want to import brown people to wash away their own white guilt.
A sane country, like Japan, simply continues with fewer people. No need to commit suicide.
And the American consumer wants ever cheaper goods and services.

Wow, so the guy without kids had to suffer because of the guy who decided to have kids? Even though he was better at his job? That's BS.
It was essentially a tiebreaker. Neither one would knock your socks off from what I understand. If I had to make that choice, I would take into consideration that one person has kids to feed. That seems like a human thing to do.

How about we start having more American babies so we don’t have to try to solve for this.
Convince those American babies to pursue a real college major or a legitimate skill set.

They also ignore the fact that “happiness”, while it’s important, isn’t the end-all-be-all.
Completely agree. Happiness and fulfillment are two different things. If you poll parents with kids at home and people without kids, the people without kids tend to report higher happiness at any given moment. If you poll them regarding fulfillment or something similar, the parents will poll higher. Being a parent is a lot of hard work, and it can suck at times. That’s true for anything worth doing.

If you actually get put and talk to people instead of developing a worldview from social media, you'd realize there isn't some "anti natalism" movement conspiracy. Most people aren't having kids because they can't afford it.
While it's largely over their own making, I'd add that student loan debt has derailed many from wanting to have children. I've seen where the ones with debt that do have kids carry that debt until after the kids are grown. It's entirely understandable why the financial aspect scares people off from having children.

There’s nothing wrong with people not wanting kids. It’s better for everyone if they don’t have them, rather than having kids they didn’t want in the first place.
It's not that simple. If enough people start reaching that conclusion, which they are, we are heading for a really bad and violent time.

Globalists have made it unaffordable for white people in the west to have children. Thats the crux of the issue

I have so much respect and admiration for family men.
Personally, I'm selfish af and very much cherish, value, and, frankly, worship my freedom to do whatever the frick I want, whenever the frick I want.
Plus my bloodline and last name is expected to continue thru my sibling...
Praise Be

I don't need our lives to be perfect to bring kids into the world. I just need to know that we will have enough money to put them in a school that cares about their education and is safe. Ideally I'd like to be able to give them a 1-2 week vacation per year. And I want to do it while saving for their college (if they want to go) and my retirement. I don't think that's wanting things to be perfect.
We rarely went on vacation and my parents saved zero for my college. I got scholarships. Maybe your kid is smart enough to get into a magnet school. Maybe you have to move to find something better. We were poor when I was born, so that colors my outlook. I’ve also always known I wanted kids. It was non-negotiable for me. If you are more on the fence, I can see how it would be difficult to pull the trigger.

Yeah, same, and I think it's pushed me the opposite direction because we are on the fence about it.
I know myself and I know that when that kid comes I'm going to need therapy to be able to take time for myself. It's going to be all about them and I want to make sure I don't feel like I've failed them in that regard.

That’s how it feels to be a parent. It’s scary. I have 3, and they are so very different. It’s made me realize that you don’t have nearly as much impact on where they end up as you think. If you give them a stable, loving home, they will turn out just as they should. And sometimes a little adversity like we had as kids can be a good thing in the long run. My kids have so much more shite than I had. I still believe my broke-arse childhood was better in many ways.

My wife and I talk about having kids, but it's just too expensive.
What would you rather have on your tombstone:
1. Loving father of four (names of kids)
2. Your bank account amount at time of death
If you pick number 1 then you need to prioritize now. I had a big raise a few years ago and at the moment I was happy but now…who really cares. I am looking at a job that pays less now so I can spend more time with my kids. I went walking on the beach two weeks ago with my little boy looking for shells and I thought to myself: this is one of the best moments of my life. That is what I will think about on my death bed.

This. I don't get the hate towards people who decide they don't want to be parents. And the double hate when they're female.

I think you can have concerns about a culture and society that leads to arguably an unnatural trend without hating the folks partaking in it

You sure that's what it's about?
Or could it be about why they don't want to be parents?

If our government should be spending money on anything it should be on providing fertility treatments to tax paying citizens who want children later in life.
As we defy genetics and push the “graduate, work, get married” to later in life, most don’t realize how hard it is to have kids as you get into your 30s…and then it costs $40k or more for IVF and none of it is covered through insurance. I’ve seen this exact story run rampant in my friend group.
Adoption also costs $30k or more.
These are the people we want to be parents and raise the next generation of smart productive citizens.
