Thankful my 1 year old slept through that storm. Pretty intense as it moved through Jefferson/Bluebonnet.

There was about 5-10 minutes where this shite was unreal. I've been through storms, hurricanes, and even tornadoes, but this was some intense stuff. The Lightning show was wild.

basically its a algorithm of the reflectivity products made available by radar that was implemented starting in 2011. it takes the similiarity of the horizontal and vertical returns. so if you have a lower ratio (percentage) its non similarly oriented particles in the atmosphere usually significant of tornadic debris in the atmosphere. there was a small debris ball apparent for a few scans around the same time the rotation was present around shenandoah.
ETA: or at least a small area of lower CC

How long did it take for the bad stuff to pass?
Posted on 5/19/16 at 10:40 pm to TakeAGander
That's the worst I've seen it here. We're In Fairhill/Springlake area. Sideways rain and a strobe show. It got hairy for a few minutes.

Who are you to talk to Chowds that way?

The is a short break then moderate rain and lightning for the next hour or so.

Basically all the tornado warnings are straight line winds. As long as you don't live in a trailer (Peej) you will be okay.
