Hopefully the kids/teachers/staff are all in a stairwell or other safe place till that cell moves by. I have a friend that teaches in Destrehan so I'll check to see whats going on

My girlfriend teaches at a middle school in Paradis, they moved the kids to the hallway while the tornado sirens were blaring about 20 minutes ago or so, when that cell was passing.

A lot of cells off shore heading north east into the Baton Rouge New Orleans area. That cell south of New Iberia appears to be very powerful.

Looks like radar is detecting hail and high winds, and is strengthening.

That whole line is going to pass right between LaPlace and Baton Rouge and move NE towards Hammond over the next couple of hours.

Looks like Morgan City, Donaldsonville, Thibodeaux, Pierre Part, Gonzales, southern Baton Rouge, French Settlement, Hammond, and Livingston will get the brunt of it.
