I feel bad for the devil's wife, she's getting her arse kicked here NE of Bham. The sun is shining and it's absolutely pouring buckets.

Is this on RadarScope? Would you explain how to recognize this please?

If you are looking at a storm on Super Res or Base Reflectivity, find the heaviest part of the storm that is normally the hail core. When you do, switch to Differential Reflectivity, and look at roughly the same spot. Using the scale at the bottom of the radar, values that are between 0-2db are a better indicator of hail that will reach the ground than Hydrometer Classification or Vertically Integrated Liquid.

ETA: That doesn't mean if you see red on the image that it is hail. The value/color has to correlate to where the heaviest part of precipitation is within the storm.

You can then look at CC and compare what you saw on DR with the CC value (just under 1.0 for hail), and draw a good conclusion that it is, in fact, hailing.

ETAA: I mixed up CC and Differential Reflectivity at first. Fixed now.

And when there’s a big hail core there will be a blue spike shooting out the back on the cell on CC

We try not to use terms like "big spikes". It diminishes the value and hurts the feelings of the "little spike" cores.

In Sterlington right now. Was about to drive to West Monroe through Rocky Branch but I don’t know if I will now. That thing will go right over that area

It is moving 43mph. You won't have to wait too long. It does have a history of hail and there's probably decent winds with. It would just cost you time if you waited.

I think we’re about to have a tornado

Monroe area?

If so, probably not a tornado, but that is a strong storm that likely has big hail and 60+ mph wind. It is tall with a broad rotation.

The storm South of Monroe may be the biggest concern for a potential tornado.

There’s some good rotation embedded in the cell right north of here

Yep. This has been a hell of a storm to watch develop on radar. Definitely watch that southern storm.

It should be a hell of a meso/updraft with that main storm. We may have a shot of some good pics/video from out in front of it.

Those storms that popped up out in front of these may help cut off the Monroe storms some.
