But if I leave Tupelo around 11, will I be back in Jackson before it hits? It’s a 3 hour drive

Current window from Jackson NWS is 1-5 for Jackson. Will be cutting it close, but as of now, looks doable.

You'll have to drive through the thick of it then. This starts at 2am and runs through 6pm.

You should leave now.

Between this and Dallas radar, think he’s going to leave around 5 am and follow it east as far as Shreveport. He’ll stop there and check radar to see where to turn south from there.

Be safe brotha.. It’s just starting to hit us right now.. Was supposed to start around 6, and they kept pushing it back.. Nasty stuff should be here in about an hour..

TWC goes to a chaser cam in Godley, Texas and looks at horizontal rain and basically calls out the NWS for not having a severe warning on the storm they're looking at

I’m in the northwestern part of FW(Haslet/Alliance area).. Wind has been kicking for a few hours, drizzling right now, and some pretty gnarly lightning and thunder.. We’ll be getting pounded in the next hour or so..

ETA: From what local guys are saying, there’s some small hail and 50-60mph winds..

I always appreciate these threads. So we are suppose to depart BR for Piegon Forge tomorrow morning at 9am. Is this doable or a turrible idea?

The wind is a maybe but the hail isn't big enough to support a severe thunderstorm warning on that storm.

ETA: Meant this for rt3. Just using your info.

How do you get those tornado icons to show up in RadarScope?

I'm pretty sure the storm tracks option will add a tornado icon if a storm is rotating.
