I'm too busy curing cancer to worry about some dirty zero that doesn't change the meaning of my value.

Leasing zero. I don't see how this is even a matter of debate.

I always use the leading zero, it was required for my stat classes.

If its my final answer, I'll lead the zero.

If it's not, then I dont lead the zero.

My finance professor hardly ever led with the zero in examples, so I pretty much adapted to his style.

This is a statistics-based course. There are lots of calculations involved.

It especially bothers me when there's a - sign right next to the . symbol. IT JUST LOOKS WRONG!

Leading zero. In the real world, it is proper to lead with a zero to avoid someone misreading the number by missing the decimal. At least tis is why I think you should lead with a 0.

I agree, it's too easy to misunderstand if you're handwriting answers.

Exactly. Especially if you are reworking your problems or reading through them to study. If you miss that decimal, it's all over!

I hate the phrase actually. Did it to piss off everyone.

Lead the zero is a waste.
I don't misunderstand what I write so I don't need a zero. With that said if you lead with a zero , why not lead with two or more zeros if y'all struggle with understanding your writing?

It's not that I can't understand my writing. It's very easy to miss a small dot on the page, especially when your page is covered in handwriting. The zero helps to space it out and facilitate uniformity.
