Most of Bruce Lee's martial arts were for show though. He was strong and quick no doubt but no way to tell how effective it really would be in real world situations since it was all set up in perfect environments for show and Hollywood.

No. But it shows that as a little guy he had no problem taking out bigger people from a strength perspective.
Taking out three fat bouncers ain't the same as taking out Mike Tyson.

Obviously, you're biased towards the boxer being that Ali is your Avi. I think it's a silly argument. You don't. Whatever

I'll ask again, did Lee ever actually fight other people competitively?

At times, yes. He would go into karate tournaments and accept challenges.

There is a pretty good list of world champion martial artists who received training and learned from Lee at various times.

Fighters of that caliber wouldn't waste their time with a "TV Karate" guy.

This is my issue. I can't find any record of Bruce Lee entering a martial arts tournament and winning.

The irony is I bet he doesn't realize that Ali and Lee trained together a while

I think it's silly that you think Tyson has no chance. Actually, that is downright hilarious.

That doesn't even do Lee justice. He was beyond elite.

I'm curious if the folks on Lee's side think there has ever been a man that could take him.

No one can criticize Tyson for losing to other HW Boxers when Lee never fought other professionals

There's people at Rucker Park and on the old And 1 tapes who could do some insane things with a basketball but that doesn't mean they could succeed in the NBA

I know it's not a great comparison, just pointing out that there's not actual fights to base Lee's actual ability from

They also are not giving credit to just how criminally mean young Tyson was. The dude would have bit, punched, headbutted and tried to squeeze Bruce's head until it exploded. He was, at heart, a street fighter.

No, what I see is you making an arbitrary comment. Everyone is, but for you to think the ratio wouldn't be closer than 19-1 is fricking idiotic. I like Bruce Lee, but seriously....take a minute from posting thoughtless comments and go Youtube some Tyson highlight vids.

Of course not. He's Bruce fricking Lee. Stronger than an ox. Faster than lightning. KO power in his toenails.

How is that irony?

For a big guy, you're right. Tyson was fast and could connect, but Lee had cat like reflexes and also knew how to hit effectively and with the quickness. I think if Tyson was able to corner Lee and get him dazed it could be trouble, but I seriously don't think he would have had that chance.

Lee was stupid fast for a martial artist. He wins the speed by a large margin.
