Apparently, according to Team Lee, if you've trained in wrestling, no matter how much, you can stop the takedowns of MMA fighters.

I'm definitely not a badass. I've gotten my arse whipped before.

I'm sorry to have shaken your world in saying that a smaller guy can beat a bigger guy.

Full retard is thinking a 145 martial arts ACTOR could win in a NHB match with a trained monster like Tyson

An ACTOR doesn't win the Hong Kong international boxing tournament at 18 years old.

Ok go pick a fight with a guy who is bigger and stronger than you and let us all know how it goes.

Are you denying this happens with some regularity? I'm confused. In one of the most overmatched fights I saw in my college days, I witnessed one of my good buddies, at 6'3, 245 or so, get obliterated by a 5'7ish, 150-170 lb friend. It was awful, thankfully they weren't true enemies and he let up once the point was proven.

Anyway, that's anecdotal, but one of the few in person fights I've witnessed where the size/strength mismatch was really obvious. I'm sure it happens all the time, however, in situations where one person has significantly more experience brawling than the other (like in my example).

I really don't give a shite if you believe me.

I'm more surprised that you don't think a smaller guy can beat a bigger guy in a fight. It's rather shocking.

I didn't say Lee was so devastating, you did.

Fair enough, but what would Lee's punches do to Tyson? Hurt him? Probably, but not incapacitate him.

he was being modest lol. But seriously though Lee would probably have to kill these bigger opponents to win, something that he would not do in a fight.

here is a fun face the actor/martial artist to the right, mostly known as Chong Li in bloodsport, swam from china to hong kong on his teens to escape communism.

Watch this all the way through. Pay attention to the teaching, footwork, leg speed, power, and agility.

Most reasonable folks in this thread give all the credit in the world to Lee for being a great tactician, very agile, very strong for his weight

You're the one harping on this and brought up your victory over this guy. Look we're never going to agree so with that I'm done talking to you about this. It has sidetracked the thread enough.

I wonder if he's a big, strong guy who hasn't fought much, and just really really wants to hang on to the idea that his innate features make him invincible. It's the only thing that makes sense, unless he's just painfully stupid.

One of my first posts in this thread was that Lee better get a quick shot to the jugular. It would be his only chance.

MPM: Okay, how about all these rumors about people on the Bruce Lee sets challenging him… you know like on ETD, did you ever witness any of this, is there anything on film?

Bob Wall: Well, yeah, I saw Bruce beat up a couple of people. There weren’t a lot of challenges. There’s a lot of people who ‘talk’ like Steven Seagal…

The main incident was a guy on the wall speaking in cantonese who was basically saying ‘you’re not a martial artist, you’re just an actor” and Bruce said “oh really. Come on down and show me what you got” and the guy goes down there and Bruce was just playing around with him and the guy was trying to take his head off and Bruce realized, I know bruce real well, I saw his whole face change cause this guy was really trying to hurt him and Bruce just then kicks the **** out of him, rammed him to the wall, arm-locked him, smacked him 3 or 4 times on the face, and the guy just started going ‘I quit, I quit, I quit’ Bruce smacked him a few more times. The guy couldn’t move at all. And then Bruce told him ‘Not bad for an actor’. And the guy then bowed to him.
that's good stuff

There's way too much dumb in this thread. A few things:

Lee grew up street fighting. But there's little to measure him by regarding full bore combat, which sucks now.

Tyson. Jeez, a lot of comments about him being a monster and tough but he was also quick and had relatively good technique. Watching the fight footage of him is still amazing.

It's such a hard call to make, but I'd have to say Tyson would win, due in part to such limited record on Lee. The fact that it's a close call despite limited data on Lee speaks volumes on how good he was because Tyson was incredible himself, the perfect storm for baddassery.

So here is the real argument, do people think Tyson would be able to avoid a wind pipe collapsing punch from Lee long enough to get enough hits in to KO him? I don't. Especially if Lee immobilizes Tyson early.
