I had mono and didn't take anything for it. I let my body fight it off and I haven't been sick since. Not even a cold. 7 years and counting.

It's a fact that I have both, I've already been to the dr. And waso tested and confirmed that I had both.

You need some prednisone. I had mono once, and that shite was magical. I felt 90% better thirty minutes after taking the first dose. Antibiotics will do nothing for the mono.

I had strep throat a few years ago, couldn't swallow and if I turned my head it felt like my throat was going to close. Slept sitting up in a chair so I wouldn't aspirate in my sleep. Doc gave me liquid Lortab but also prescribed huge penicillin pills. Stupid!!!

That shite sucked. I had both at same time. Hurt so bad I could barely drink water. Didn't eat for about 3 days. Lost 20 lbs. it also changed my metabolism completely

Yeah it sucks. Everyone who's saying to grow a pair have obviously never had it lol.

Another negative aspect of Vicodin being changed to schedule 2. Is Vicodin abused? Yep.
But people who actually could use it are denied it. Docs do not want to hassle with triplicates.

+chloraseptic spray
doc, IMO, the lozenges are better than the spray... patients typically get the spray mostly on their tongue, never reaching where they really intend and need the med...
i always recommend the Chloraseptic Max Lozenges... most benzocaine per drop, and you are constantly swallowing the med while eating the drop, meaning you are constantly getting the med to the place you need it....

Btw, the 3-6 months not full strength is true. I coach hs ball and it happened to me in January. Took until April before I could make an entire practice without going straight to bed after. I would be drained.

Now that I think about it, I'm the same way. Had it my junior year of high school and can't think of a time I have been sick since. Maybe some allergies or a head cold, but no flu or sickness that prevented me from doing anything. Having mono was the worst 3 weeks of my life though.

Depends on your gender. There is a sure fire remedy for throats for females

Have you tried getting your boyfriend to rub your back?

If you are a normal sized adult, get some liquid Benadryl and Maalox or Mylanta. Mix 30 ml's of the benadryl and 60 ml's of the maalox or mylanta. Swish and swallow 1 - 2 teaspoons four times a day. I prescribe this mixed with carafate (prescription only, I believe) all the time for throat pain. The liquid benadryl acts as a mild anesthetic.

"magic mouthwash"...
but why not, if you are prescribing it, put viscous lidocaine in it also? i mean, if you are going through the trouble of actually writing it out as a prescription and not for them to just get OTC...
