We might get them next week.

I hope so, an early ski season would rock.

It seems like you just got rid of snow like a month ago.

There's snow somewhere year around, the ice field in particular. But the last snowfall we had at sea level was in May.

Usually get the first snow in mid -late October.

You sure they were talking about the weather and not the shithole that is Louisiana in general?

worked with a guy that grew up in Alaska. He said our winters are far worse because of the wet cold. Said up there you put on your layers and you're good. He'd bitch about never getting warm here because of how the damp cold just penetrates everything.

Heh, penetrate.

Shiiiiiid, if they don't like the weather today and tomorrow, they need to move back to the artic. This weather is gorgeous. Gives me a hard on thinking about fall, fires, and hunting.

A cold wet day in south lousiana is pretty rough. Had friends from PA comment how cold it was to them.

Same here. Worked with a guy from the state of Iowa and he said he couldn't stand a damp cold.

Regarding the heat, when we lived in Pasadena, Tx, my dad worked for Shell and he mentioned a guy from Michigan was sweating bullets. Said he would pull out handkerchiefs to wipe his face.

Lol! I love it. But I am not made of soy either.

It didn't bother me much when I was working in it every day. Now that I sit behind a desk (and the older I get) the less I can tolerate it. I am an avid bass angler and between July and September I don't care to fish in it at all.

This is true. I used to work with a guy from Canada down in Port Fourchon. We had a blistering cold front come through one winter and It was down in the upper 20's in the mornings with a 25 mph north wind. He said it was the coldest he had ever been in his life.

I thought Tuscaloosa had shitty weather but last week in Prairieville changed my mind. That one night in a travel trailer without power (AC) really sucked. Considered sleeping in the truck.

Great people and food but your heat, humidity and mosquitoes can kiss my arse.

Worked January and February at a particle collider at Los Alamos, it never got above 29F. Hardest thing to keep warm was my feet, even with wool socks my toes would eventually get numb. Worked a couple months at Boston Univ. during one summer, I had to go and buy a jacket. I don't mind sweating in Louisiana as long as there is some type of breeze.

Im not sure if this is the case with these two different locations, but I know the cold here is different than the cold in places like Colorado, Utah and Nevada.. I haven't experienced cold anywhere else, but it just seems like the humidity here gives the cold an extra chill. A more damp cold.
