Actually, it does.
It's called franchising, and having your own food distribution.
It's why Little Caesar's can put more cheese and pepperoni on their pizzas than other national chains, but still only sell it for $5, instead of $14-$20.
The distribution of food and products is all within the same company.
Taco Bell is almost the same model.
