Deano's and Pizza Village dominate the pizza market in Lafayette
and they both suck. Alesi's is the only authentic New York pizza in town and has been for half a century.

But the coonasses love their Deano's. They can have it.

I remember toys by Roy which was by the main entrance I believe.

No it was by the entrance closest to Macy's (where TGIF's was). I know b/c I had to go w/ my mom to look for a glowworm for my little brother for Christmas one year

I believe. KB was by the puppet show I think.

It was b/t the center court and puppet show, think it was near a Foot Action if I can recall ?

That does ring a bell but I was a little older and didn't pay attention to it.

We always hit up Morrison's, until it went to an all you can eat and went to shite.

How about the restaurant on the 3rd floor of DH Holmes, ate there a few times with the family. Don't remember it being anything special other than being on the 3rd floor of the 'finest store' in the mall.

The Knife Shop.

Guess it was too easy to remember.

Sears use to be GameStop before GameStop. Would play video games as a kid in the store. Good ole days.

There was a record store across from Aladdin's Castle. I don't remember the name.

The reason I still hate 'jeans' from 40 + years ago. Sumbtiches were actually tough though, you couldn't tear these damn things. They felt like you were wearing some drapes around you, damn I hated those things.

The Sears football jerseys were great though;

It renamed to Sam Goody but I think it opened as Record Bar? I'm sure someone else will remember.

There's a FYE right at the main entrance, but it was originally Kershenstein's restaurant, where my brother used to get the rock hard beef jerky that he loved so much. The music store was past the old theater, I think.

I believe the only place that's still where it was when the mall first opened is the ISIS jewelry store. And for now, Sears.

I just noticed the giant Victoria's secret that recently opened. I think that place will do well and I don't think the mall as a whole is going anywhere. It might be trashier, but trashy people still spend money.

Funny thing, my dad was involved in the original land deal when the mall was first built. At the time, no one wanted or cared about the land that surrounds the mall. Now, it's worth far more than the mall property itself.

Before that one the record store was close to where the cookie shop is. I bought many albums and single cassettes from that place. Music Land does sound familiar and the sign / emblem was black and red, I think you're correct.

Hopefully they have some good sales coming up on tools

If it's anything like when they closed the Houma Sears, they ship anything good ahead of time to stores still open, then mark up the rest 50% then apply a 25% discount.

Before the mall was there, a small convent of nuns was located on that property. Ask your dad if he recalls that.

DH Holmes would make an elaborate winter wonderland of sorts on the third floor every Christmas time. My mom liked to bring us to see that........and get some chocolate that was sold up there.

I don't like alesi's pizza. It is too greasy for me. Deano's is okay, but pizza village is Gawbage. I prefer to cook my own.
