WTH is wrong with you guys. Look in the mirror. Your hatred of the left has caused you to become what you despise. You started out saying no government control, of which I concur, but now you are advocating big governments telling smaller governments what they can and can’t do.
The principles of freedom are simple. Among them is that government should be exercised by the institution closest to the people. So mayors over governors and governors over presidents. This is what small government conservatism is all about. Instead you guys are perversely advocating authoritarianism - so long as your people get to make the rules.
If a town wants masks, that is their right. The minority in the town can vote with their feet. But if my town wants freedom, and allows each business to decide, and each person to decide, than leave us alone.

Mask mandates require people to engage in an affirmative act of compliance. Statewide orders prohibiting mask mandates do not prohibit the wearing of masks, just the compulsory wearing of them. To me this is a net win for liberty.

Do I need to keep going? Banning the enforcement of unreasonable mandates is most certainly small government. Just as the Bill of Rights is small government, as it limits the power of government. Any limitation of the power of government, at any level, is small government.
