In Nagin's New Orleans, the night they opened Turchin Stadium at Tulane for baseball, NOPD was directing the overflow crowd to park on the median on Claiborne Avenue. They were directing them up the curbs and from the intersections.
Once the game started and NOPD left, Parking Enforcement working OVERTIME, about 8:00 p.m. came in and ticketed every car they could. They didn't get every car because they ran out of tickets.

Just so you know. It is possible to park in a freight zone and get a ticket for it even by paying a meter. There are tons of electronic meters now. He could have parked in a freight zone, walked to the meter and paid and put it in his windshield. Not that hard to do.
