Weather hysteria around here is almost always way worse than the actual weather. It's gonna rain dude. Calm the frick down! This is getting ridiculous.

Oh shut the frick up dude. There's nothing wrong with being curious about what's functioning the day a storm hits. A lot of people on here have family/friends affected by this shite and want to know what to do in case of emergency.

School safety is the #1 concern, if a school is open and because of the flooding a bus skids off the road, etc then the school will be held liable. It is easier to cancel school and use the 5 hurricane days they are allotted each year.

All of EBR is a conference day tomorrow anyway, so no students. But my wife teaches in EBR, and as far as we know she still has to go. Our kids have daycare in Central. So I'm waiting to see whether one or both districts are closed and whether it fricks up the actual work that I have to do tomorrow.

Seems pretty doubtful at this juncture. If anything, it'll probably be a closure at a later time like today.

Haven't heard anything, they like to wait until the last minute. I'll get a call though.

Well, if half the office takes a personal day to stay home with the kids, it screws with everyone else's schedule.

Dude then make up your own mind. Just don't send them to school tomorrow if it's not "safe".
