So sick of the SJW horseshite trying to delete history.
Dear Lord. My two biggest "anti-confederate flag of any kind" points are this:
1) Many people who support it say it's just a flag and it is stupid to get you're feelings hurt over a flag and a flag can't be racist and all kinds of other dumb shite. However, if it is so important to keep it up then surely you can appreciate that it would be so important to tear it down to others. You cannot simultaneously lambast them for getting offended over a "piece of cloth" while fighting tooth ant nail to keep said piece of cloth flying.
2) Even if you argue that it wasn't a symbol of racism from the start, it has come to represent racism and that's enough for me. 95 out of 100 people that fly it are racist AF and we all know it.
On another note, as I've said every time this shite comes up, most supporters would lose their mind if Nazi battle flags flew over garrisons in Germany. Even worse, if a 2nd generation German decided to display his "pride" for his grandfather who fought and died in WWII by displaying the Nazi battle flag above his home in Walker, LA he'd probably be dragged into the street and beaten to death.
Oh, and spare me the "Civil War wasn't about slavery" line that gets brought up in these discussions.

That's the Army of Northern Virginia battle flag anyway.

Maybe they can trade the Confederate flag with LSU for the cannon that fired on Ft. Sumter that Sherman gave to yall.
Ames cannons, 1861. Highly polished. According to plaque on cannon, These cannons fired at Fort Sumter and presented to University by General W.T. Sherman after the Civil War
Another history states General Sherman donated two cannons to the institution. These cannons had been captured from Confederate forces who had used them to start the war when fired at Fort Sumter, SC. They are still displayed in front of LSU's Military Science building.

The fact that that has to be spoonfed to people blows my freaking mind
Well then, name a Confederate, any Confederate, who was convicted of treason. It shouldn't be very difficult since you think you know what treason is.

You can thank Lincoln for that: Proclamation for Amnesty and Reconstruction
Eta: Along with that actual proclamation, that did not include every Confederate, Lincoln was far more conciliatory than he had to be.

[quote] No. The state's surrendered, agrees to the terms of surrender and were readmitted into the Union. [/quote
Yet the argument given by Lincoln to justify the war was that it was a civil war. States weren't allowed to leave.
So if the resulting war led to them having to be re-admitted? How does this work?

I believe it's proven that there were some legal justifications for leaving the Union. The Civil War was unique that despite the ferocity and hate of the fighting that took place, there was still honor and respect among the combatants, for the most part. There was a lot of pride of those in the South who rebelled against the power of the federal government. There was also respect from the North because they got their arses kicked a good bit of the time.
I know smart arses will come here and yell treason like some radical SJW and talk about slavery and that's fine, it's ignorant none the less. Was the Confederacy concerned about slavery? Yes it was one of their cornerstones of their government, however the North went to war as Lincoln described to "preserve the Union." He only freed the slaves to prevent any and all European intervention. Lincoln himself said that whites were superior.
Also, in "preserving the Union" Lincoln violated many rights of citizens as well as helping shape such illegal acts as income tax. The Federal Governments power grew exponentially during the Civil War. Let's not call him some great hero.
