You haven't quite lived until you see a German cover band in Greece perform Bon Jovi and AC/DC, among others.

I hear a lot of Americans pin a Canadian Maple leaf on their belongings to avoid getting kidnapped and beheaded by Muslims.

I thought they were actually pretty good.

They kicked me off stage though.

Sorry for being that guy.

Funny thing is, the crazy Muslims hate everyone who isn't a crazy Muslim, so this doesn't work.

I've only heard a Spanish person discuss this. He told me that he would not call me American out of respect for the people of South American

Most foreigners will ask if you are American.

I say to Europeans, Canadians or Aussies/NZers, etc. "the States" and to folks from the rest of the world I say "the US".

I never say America.

I often get spoken to in Northern European languages when I travel. When it's Scandinavian, I got nothing but they all speak some English.

I doubt it was an act.

outside of europe and ANZ, they don't though. Everyone in indonesia thought I was from Netherlands. Go figure.

I will say that the Chinese all thought my accent was French. I was more just thinking how I interacted with the Western World over there. Mississippi is a very famous state though thanks to the river.

Oh yeah, living in Beijing, you quickly learn how much the Pakistanis hate Americans. You walk into a restaurant or bar and some Pakistanis were there, things immediately got hostile if they knew you were Americans. I've never gotten in a brawl before, but the closest I've ever gotten into a brawl... well that and my Chinese girlfriend calling full blown drug dealing Nigerians the N-Bomb because she was racist as frick, and I had to diffuse that situation quickly before I got fricking stabbed.

But in short, frick Pakistan. Worst people on the planet, with only the Saudis who can compare.
