Someone on this board posted something about Mexican food being "Americanized"
That would be called Tex-Mex. Do people in Iraq, Yeman, etc say "this has become Saudi Arabianized?".
I know what you know.. And while this person didn't use the term "Americanized", they were talking about how nudity is less accepted and they said "its such an American thing" with a negative tone..

bad beer is not a American thing
Just because we make great beer doesn't mean that you can disregard what the majority of Americans think of beer and what is beer in this country. The rest of the world may fall into the same scenario because the common man is simple and usually doesn't appreciate something more when it comes to flavor, style, music, arts, etc. Anheuser Busch produces 10,540,464,889.1 gallons of beer per year. It is the epitome of mass production to appeal to the masses and make max profit, and as an added bonus, it's not even owned by America anymore. How American of them? Whether we produce great beer as well, or perhaps even the best beer in the world is irrelevant to the thread. I suppose in a way we can say that craft beer is "Americanized" due to our new reputation globally as producing great beer as well (since "Americanized" can also mean "make this fricking awesome as well"), but with the thread title being
quote:, the BMC conglomerate and it's stamp on the market of beer in the world is undeniable. It is also "Americanized", and that is being said in a negative context. I stand by my original point in that we took something awesome like beer and fricked it up.
