True, but Americans are not known for it internationally.

Europeans laugh at us for light beer and White Zinfandel.

TexMex, when done right, is pretty awesome.

Im an idiot? I love craft beer. I brew beer regularly. The overwhelming majority of Americans still drink "AMERICAN STYLE LIGHT LAGERS". I never said we don't make great beer here, so it's irrelevant to the thread topic. It's specifically talking about what is "Americanized", and I can't think of a better example in the food and drink industry than taking something that is so awesome like beer, and producing Bud Light which then gets supported by our culture turning it into a billion dollar monster.

Most of the Europeans I've met in the states drink Budweiser almost exclusively. Like it's something they're looking forward too when they get to America.

Jesus Christ people, do you always look at stuff in the wrong context? America has contributed greatly to the craft beer market, but that is only recently. What your run of the mill Uncle drinks in this country is more than likely going to be BMC, and you all know that's true. We have an "Americanized" view on beer and those of us that appreciate delicious IPA's are still in the extreme minority. You go anywhere else in the world and hand them a Bud Light and they think it's shite because it is. It's been "Americanized", as in stripped of it's essence and commercialized.

Define "cultured"

I've spent more time overseas than 95% of this board.

I was in Bordeaux a few weeks ago and had a couple discussions with locals about this - both mentioned how incredible some US beers are (especially our IPAs).

In the past definitely Budweiser but I think that's changing.

Absolutely. We do make great beer. But who will our Super Bowl be sponsored by this year? Stone or Anheuser? Perhaps it will be sponsored by "America".

It is but its not like they are drinking the best beers in the world all the time and the dumb americans only drink bud light as a whole.

They drink a ton of shite beer also.

If by this you mean we've gone from one of the worst beer countries to the absolute best within a 15 year period, sure

The American beer story is absolutely amazing when you think about it.

What else could we become fricking awesome at?
