Food is the best.
Humidity sucks balls but it beats 8 months of freezing temps.
Outdoor activities are plenty.
Water, water everywhere.
Property taxes are by far the lowest in the country.
Generally respects private property and firearm rights.
Culture is unique and very enjoyable.
No place does festivals like South LA.
NOLA is a living museum. At least until Mitch "General Sherman" Landrieu is done with it.

Fishing spots galore. Good food. Fine women (mostly crazy). Jacked up trucks. Salt Life.

Where the hell else could I fill an ice chest with shrimp by throwing a cast net from the side of the road, watch the sun rise on the bayou, and walk down the street drinking a beer?
I know Louisiana is kind of crappy, and is run horribly, and I could do much better financially almost anywhere else, but everyday I feel like I am stealing life here. I didn't feel like that in the other places I have lived.
