I'm sure he's a blast to be around though

Wow post match speech from Cody was fire. Fun little outro by Kenny

Decent enough show, especially for free. I'd say 6/10. Luchasaurus was the big star tonight.

You seem oddly Debbie downery about almost anything AEW. It’s weird.
ETA: it’s weird cause I wouldn’t have expected that from you for some reason.

they really need a producer on the floor (or 1 of the referees who was standing out there) to have gotten word from the people in the production truck that they were still on the air and how much time they had left

the fact that Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy were out there during the check presentation tells me AEW has long term plans for them

I kind of like it as long as it isn’t derping up the actual show itself (hello captions I’m talking to you). Some of their minor flubs just remind you of their authenticity and how it really is just people trying to give fans some US wrestling that isn’t canned garbage. Yeah it’s cool they get money too, but there are people like Moxley who are showing that they believe in AEW regardless of money.

Not really. I mostly enjoy it so far. Some of the booking is questionable though. I'm worried the Elite guys might turn into the new Kliq.

Kenny Omega is 1-2 (ETA: 1 of these losses took him out of the inaugural AEW Championship Match)
Cody is 1-1-1 (ETA: his draw really did help put Darby Allin over)
Young Bucks are the only "Elite" guys who have a winning record in AEW so far (ETA: and I stand by my statement following Fyter Fest that I believe they will NOT be the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions)
(not counting All In b/c AEW didn't technically exist then)

I enjoyed the show. The last few matches were very good, and they have some really great talent. I enjoyed the six man tag and the three way tag match more than I thought I would. Fenix and Pentagon could both easily be huge singles stars whenever they choose, as could Scorpio Sky. Kenny remains one of the best in the world. They need to build the next year around his chase for the title.
They need more depth on the singles side. I don't buy Adam Page as a possible champion. I just don't. There are at least four or five other people on the roster better suited to win the title than him.
The women's matches were fairly bad. Bea Priestley came across as a bigger star than anyone else in her match, and she came in as an unknown to most people watching the show. Brandi's match was a dud, and Aja Kong versus Awesome Kong is a matchup about ten years past its expiration date.

AEW has been hit and miss every show....Its still a spot show at this point which isn't bad at the moment but will have to change when they start the weekly TV show.
Evolve was a damn good show.....the under card delivered way more than I thought it could.

AEW has real talent at the top of the card and I hope they are able to develop some new talent to become top stars

I said after Double or Nothing that I hoped Hangman would win the title and start with an "AEW" guy holding the 1st title instead of an aging "vested veteran"... but I'm now of the belief that Jericho should win it and have some real good feuds with Moxley & Omega to help build it up... now that said... Page I believe is a star in the making and could actually become a top face with a good story while chasing the title trying to get it off of a top heel

I said right after the match that I believe Priestley & Baker just need some time working together and they can put on some top flight matches against each other

the ropes at the EVOLVE show look too loose to me
Posted on 7/14/19 at 12:46 am to rt3
and there was at least 1 Coup d'Grace kicked out of during the EVOLVE show
it was not a good night whatsoever for Finn Balor's finishing move
had to be about 6-8 Coup d'Graces used between the 2 shows tonight... and not 1 of them got a pinfall
