They should apply this logic to athletics - a kid who is obese isn’t at fault at all - if they were athletic and in shape they would be a great basketball player too!

Do you know how many schools there are in this country? No one is entitled to any spot at any school. Maybe it kids and parents could see multiple and alternative routes to success, they perhaps they wouldn't be so butt hurt because their kid wasn't good enough in the eyes od the school to be admitted at the school they preferred.

its life, you don't always get what you preferred. The idea that youre entitled to it is hubris and arrogance at its finest

Irrelevant.

If two people are competing for a slot, the student with the better test scores should get the slot.

Period.

I disagree -- there is more to a student than a test score. This "Adversity Score" actually should help poorer, rural kids a lot.

All a test score tells me is that you take a test well -- I need more of a expansive view of a student to get the full picture. Im not diminishing it, it says a lot about the students ability to take that particular test, their abilities to reason, logic, etc but it does have gaps.

But you're entitled to nothing in life. Where am I wrong?

I agree nearly 100%.

Ideally, their course load, extra-curricular activities, and work in their community should be some of the factors. Top Universities should want outstanding people and thinkers to represent them while attending and afterwards in society.

Demographic information should be a non-factor to eliminate any bias or prejudice. Assign a number to the candidate and exclude all demographic factors including name, race, gender, etc...
