XR is NOT for mixing. Neat or on ice only! I had the please to try some Pappy Van Winkle a couple of months ago. Didn't live up to it's hype. It was good, but not $1000/bottle good. I found a Venezuelan rum that's as good as any bourbon I've tried, Santa Theresa 1796. Smooth, with a lot of flavor.

Stagg Jr is more expensive but has a kickass burn with its 130ish proof.
If you are looking for a mixer, just get Four Roses. It’s better than Crown.

It's pretty decent mixed with coke, but the Jim Bean vanilla is better.
If I'm going to go with a flavored whiskey, I'd probably go with Honey Jack. I can drink that stuff straight, especially out of the freezer.

They mix the salted caramel crown with apple crown. Sounds disgusting to me but it is very popular.
