So many bitter sales people in here.
I am a lead admin for a $400M company. Here is my advice/thoughts.
Depending on company growth YoY, expect 1 of these 2 things to happen.
1. You are hiring an actual SF admin to handle the day to day workload, enhancements, expertise on knowing what to do, not to do, etc.
2. You are stuck doing it, and prob poorly, a mess is created. Ppl hate it, you hate it.
3. In 2 years you hire an Admin to fix your mess, or you pull the plug.
Some times it's more about volume of sales and size of sales team. If that is going to keep growing, you are going to wish you just hired someone.
Sales people hate change, good luck.
You aren't wrong. But you don't really need Salesforce at a company sub $500m in annual revenue. Or not in hyper growth, spend on everything to burn cash and find efficiency later mode. The dollars to resource it properly are just not worth enough against lower tier crms and hiring good sales operators.

The company I retired from adopted it early on (15 years ago) made it the main sales mgmt tool for all sales reps and managers. It almost became like they wanted you to spend more time inputting data on SF than calling on customers.
My only regret was not investing in Salesforce stock when it was <$20/share.

Agree…software business should be around $250k/employee with 85% gross margins and still have 25% EBITDA.
Manufacturing is capital intensive and runs at much higher $rev/employee and lower GM and EBITDA.

This program is the scourge of the sales profession. I highly recommend you quit the moment they bring in this busy work/micromanagement tool to any company.
Last company I worked for is still ironing out their installation of that garbage. Only been 3 years now. They got bought by an equity company. The equity company is just checking the boxes to resell it at a later date. Salesforce is on that checklist.

Once you start with Salesforce it is impossible to get away. It will be nearly impossible to switch and they will keep going up on renewal.

Salesforce
It is fine if you use it to help plan, track shite, etc.
It’s a massive pain in the fricking arse if your leadership uses it to bludgeon as many bullshite, arbitrary quotas as they can on top of the folks who actually drive revenue for the company.

Imagine a piggy bank with a hole in it.

It’s fine if you make it work for you. You’ll figure it out

Think: Micromanaging proctology exam, daily. Soul crushing busy work with the features of location tracking and humiliation.

We had Salesforce at a company I worked for but we mainly used it as a data repository for pricing, contracts, etc. We acquired another company and in the process the employee who entered all the data for the information needed found a new job. We went about 3 months without updating any of that information so we quoted so much out of date information it turned into a dumpster fire. Eventually someone asked how Salesforce received information and it looked like the scene with the Scarecrow from Wizard Oz.

It’s a micromanaging nightmare.
Just wait till they force you to upload all of your contacts into it. That way when they fire you they can hand it to the next salesman.

110 employees and only 25 mil rev??? That's not good.
Kind of what I was thinking. They’re GP must be thru the roof for that ratio to be profitable.
It’s just me and my one direct report in my department and we bang out about 1.5 mil annually.

Put me in the group that can't stand it.
My Company was far more efficient before the SF implementation.
As a Manager, it added hours to my work day and in time it create animosity in the workforce with its time management B.S.
The Lifecycle addition never worked correctly and was scrapped.
It's the reason I retired early.

I love it. Works great for my usage!
It's simply a matter of how it's used and how it's implemented. I could see a lot of reasons why it could suck for people.

I’ve never used their software, but they employ my sister and they treat her extremely well, so for that, I am thankful
