So if someone robbed your house and the cops passed them leaving your neighborhood, then you would be ok with the cops not stopping them bc they weren’t robbing anyone at that moment?

So they shouldn't have investigated the fact that a man was threatening people with a gun? If they roll up then leave without talking to anyone and AS shoots someone later that evening or a couple days down the road that's on them at that point for not investigating a crime that was reported.

Robbing a house is not equivalent to brandishing a gun, for lots of reasons.
Brandishing a gun is, or should be, a crime only in some circumstances, for one thing.
Cops brandish them all the time, for example.

Did those people, when the cops showed up, look threatened to you?
You don’t think everything would have gone better if the cops had rolled up, seen that no one was about to get shot, and just drove away?
It appears that Lake was headed in that direction. His interaction with Sterling when Salamoni rolled up ( From the point of view of Salamoni's body cam ) appeared to be calm. It was Salamoni who escalated it and put Sterling on the defensive. I wonder why we haven't seen the body cam from Lake? ( Unless I missed it being released ). I am not a cop so educate me on procedures and such but I wonder why at no point did we hear anyone question Sterling about the gun? Wasn't this why they were called to the location anyway? Why did they not question him from the jump? Ask him if he has a gun, where is it? Tell him they were called to the location that someone fitting his description was waving a gun and threatening people. They were a safe distance away. If he makes a offensive move then you shoot him.
I am quite surprised by my reaction to this. I am normally the first to defend the police. In this case Lake should be defended but Salamoni appears to be very unprofessional. I don't know that video looks bad.

You do realize that the only reason AS didn't commit a crime for that 6 year stretch was because he was in jail right? You a fricking idiot to call that a better human than Salamoni.

Should be? Moving the goal post it seems

So when does BR build a statue downtown of Saint Alton.

No, they are going to get paid because the cop was worse of a human than Sterling.
You’re a special kind of stupid.

I just built him a nice statue in remembrance.
But the damn thing didn’t stick around after I flushed.

Agree with you 100% and I’m usually fully on the cops sides in these cases.

Soon and i hope they include all of his arrests on a plaque at the bottom.

I don't know who will pay for it but you can bet it will happen.
The real question is how long before his son ends up in jail.

Actually no. I just felt like jacking with you. Referencing SJW while complaining about “optics” made me chuckle so I figured I’d go all in on my response. We really need a sarcasm font here.

I think Lake handled himself correctly. I don't want to lump him in with Salamoni.

Yep and thank God it's not the other way around.

You seem to be latching onto that and avoiding the larger point.
I said “should be” to allow for the cowardly way we allow ourselves to be ruled these days. I’m sure some fricking nanny state lawmaker has put laws on the books that make it illegal in all circumstances for us measly citizens
