I wouldn’t want to be a cop but I have no argument with Salamoni getting fired based on his video. And I always give the officers the benefit of the doubt.

Please explain how you would have handled the situation

it should be the message to everyone in America. it's time for the bullshite to end.
It won't as long as they aren't paid enough for the risks they are exposed to. A few will fall through the cracks to fill needs.
Everything is set back a decade or more right now. Can't purposefully divide a country an exacerbate social issues to keep power.

Considering there wasn’t an immediate threat when I arrived at the scene, I would not have brandished my weapon, pointed it at the suspect and told him I was going to shoot him if the face.
Does that answer your question officer?

You watch LivePD? Half of the people don’t listen, white or black. They police stil try to keep from escalating the situation when the criminal is just standing there.

I had turned the video off after the shooting before. Just saw that the officer came back and stood over his body and called him a stupid MF her. I’m sure that did not help his case either. Wait. Then as other officers show up and wanted to check on him, the officer said “F@$& it. Let him be”. Sterling was definitely a POS. The officer is as well

There wasn’t an immediate threat? If you were in your room and your wife called to you that there was an armed man in your front yard that was threatening a neighbor with a gun 5 minutes earlier, you would just walk outside and calmly talk to the guy?

So let’s say in 4th grade you are seeing stuff on the streets that give you reason to distrust both police and the court? And then you see people rallying around conduct like salamoni displayed. Maybe you start worrying about what we say is the foundation vs how things really are?

I wouldn't run up on him.

He appears to be justified in using lethal, force but we're not sure it had to come to that. I've stated my thoughts and don't care to repeat them- especially while our baseball team is playing so I'm out on this one.
Jesus you are dumb. Racial terms..... you are looking to be outraged snowflake

If I was a highly trained professional that deals with both real criminals, AND false reports regularly than yea— I’d be lower stress and working on deescalating the situation instead of getting the suspect as amped up as possible and then tackling him

Just wanted to say it's cool seeing a lot of people in this thread be able to admit having a change of heart when presented new info.
Too often these days people refuse to do that.
Kudos to the OT

gotta love all these "experts" who are stating as fact that the cops knew they were responding to a call about a lifelong criminal with a gun. The cops didn't know when responding if Sterling had a criminal record, was a deacon at the church, or was father of the yr.
Reality is cops get dispatched out daily regarding incidents involving guns. Some are legit and some are false flags. Salamoni deserved to be fired and he's lucky he's not facing some serious criminal charges
