OT car experts,

Wife totaled her car (someone ran into her) and I have to get a new car.

Don't want a car note at all.

What's the safest used car (for riding our 3 year old around) for $10K?

Right now, am close to deciding on a 2011 Honda Accord or 2011 Lincoln MKS.

The Lincoln is slightly more expensive. But if it's that much safer, will bite the bullet.

If safety is #1 concern. Then large SUV or full size Truck is your only answer. But those cost a lot more than $10K.

Family member got T-Boned by an asshat who blew a light at full speed and was driving a Chevy Tahoe. Not a scratch despite being pushed through the intersection and into a light pole and tree. It would have been a major accident in a sedan.

She took my Yukon for riding him around all. Says she'll probably keep it for that reason.

I don't care what I drive. But, will have the little guy in the car here and again.
