“We sort of felt that out of respect to the city that we were giving people room to deal with the decision however that may come down,” says Conscious Venture Lab Executive Director Jeff Cherry.

Cherry, who lives in Baltimore, says the economic disparities exposed by the Sterling death was part of the reason why he and his Conscious Venture Lab team came to Baton Rouge

Once again, lets staple a "corporate" decision to a career criminal and death of sex offender.

A new boot camp and pitch competition that aims to spur investment and development in north Baton Rouge has been postponed in anticipation of the U.S. Department of Justice’s pending decision on the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling by Baton Rouge police officers

Why? All of the protests will be peaceful. Gravy assured me.

Well, that's a great way to start off trying to revive NBR..

They have to postpone a competition that involves finding a business that would be successful in that part of town. This gives them a taste of reality, its not worth investing in the area. If they have to worry about the reaction from the people who live there, what else will they have to worry about when a business opens up there?

This has nothing to do with race, but has everything to do with reality. It's not a smart decision to invest in a high crime area and it isn't anyone else's fault other than the people who are committing all of these crimes.

Do Baton Rouge's leaders not see that this event, which is focused on business investment in Baton Rouge, has to be canceled due to the potential for violence by the residents of Baton Rouge; do they not see the irony?
